Sonakshi Sinha who was never exactly slim, lost more than 30kgs to look voluptuous in Dabangg. The actress has never shied away from talking about her weighty issues and has made several amendments. The result – a super slim Sonakshi Sinha in Holiday and beyond.
When she was a dress designer, Sonakshi was fat, at 90 kilos, thriving on junk food, enjoying a sedentary lifestyle and not doing any form of exercise. She has been frank enough in admitting that she would pant walking a few steps and also would find it difficult to find dress, her size in India. Only after films came her calling and Salman motivated her to reduce her weight, she began transforming herself.
Sonakshi says going to gym was a grueling and boring affair but she kept on. After a few months, she found that she had lost some weight, and carried on. Sonakshi started including weight training, swimming, cycling, functional training and tennis in her exercise routine. For three days, a week, she started doing hot yoga. Yasmin Karachiwala, her trainer guided her through her exercise regime.

Being someone who ate herself to obesity, giving up on her favorite food was tough. Sonakshi eventually gave up on junk food and began to eat balanced diet. Her trainer put her on a high protein diet low on carbs to help with her demanding workouts. She began to drink lots of water and sipped green tea throughout the day. A transformed Sonakshi Sinha has this diet incorporated in her daily regime now
Breakfast – Cereals, milk, whole grain toast
Mid-morning – Green tea and dry fruits
Lunch – Hot-made rotis and veggies with salad
Evening – Green tea and organic snacks or fruit
Evening –A fruit and green tea
Dinner – Dal, chicken, egg-whites or fish – protein rich foods. No carbs after 6 pm.
Sonakshi is proud of her achievement (who wouldn’t be!) and says that her slimming down has been a consistent affair and had not happened all of a sudden. She began working out in November 2013 and the results began to show up in March 2014. In spite of her busy movie schedule, she never skipped on her workout and was loyal to her changed diet. She set up a gym in the terrace of her home to work out in the open
