Not many know that though Kangana Ranaut debuted in the movie ‘Gangster’ (2005), she had also dabbled in a bit of modeling and had done some theater as well. She was hired by Elite Modeling Agency because they took a liking to her thin frame and curly hair. But modeling did not excite her because in her words ‘there was not much scope for creativity. She joined theater and became a part of Asmita Theater Group, in Delhi.
Kangana had lofty ambitions ever since she was a child. She was born on March 23, 1987 in Surajpur, a village in Himachal Pradesh, close to Manali. Her family was a reputed one, her great-grand father Sarju Singh Ranaut was a minster for fifteen years. Her grand-father was an IAS officer, her father was into construction while her mother was a teacher.
Kangana studied science in Chandigarh with specialization in chemistry. The subject depressed her and she decided to go into the creative world. She was slapped by her father for the first time, when she was 15. He told her to leave the house and Kangana left so without a single penny in her pocket.
The actress was still treated as an outsider, even though she had success with Gangster. The very same year, her sister Rangoli became a victim of acid attack by a jilted man, who appeared at her doorstep on the pretext of delivering a money order. Kangana made her sister fly immediately to Mumbai with her parents for treatment and got her married to her fiancé Vikram
Kangana is now self-dependent and does not really need a man in life. She says a man would not be able to handle her. She adds, “People who get married need to go to a pychiatrist. Even if people are happily married, a legal contract for possessing someone’s body and soul is so needy. If someone does that to me I will lose interest in that person.”
Kangana now is in a position in life where she has gifted her parents, her sister and her brother each a house She is in a contented space, happy to be the Queen of Bollywood.
