Meet Diandra Soares – The Bald and Beautiful Bigg Boss 8 Contestant

Diandra Soares, the popular model from India, is  one of the Bigg Boss 8 contestants. She is distinguished for her bald look which met with equal amount of praise and criticism. Born on August 13, 1979, this 5 feet 10 inch model has been actively involved in modeling since her teenage years, her first big break being Tips and Toes ad. Diandra has also won the title of Miss Bombay in 1995. The actress has walked the ramp on national and international levels, representing some top-line brands.

Diandra went bald at the age of 20,  in 1999; this step was criticized by the modeling fraternity. She went bald again exactly ten year later, in 2009. At this time, the modeling industry seemed to have woken up to the ‘style element’ in her baldness. She was the highlight of Lakme Fashion Week, due to her ‘bald’ step. Diandra shaved her head again in  2013, and the reason she stated was for spiritual uplift. Criticizing the media and fashion world who alleged that Dianda shaved her head for publicity, she said that she does it to bring out her inner beauty. She says that going bald is like going back to the child in you. The  model also has a weakness for tattoos and likes to sport them when she takes her selfies or flash them at events.


Diandra first appeared in a Bollywood film called ‘Everyone Says I’m Fine’ by Rahul Bose, this was back in 2001. She was also  the first choice for a glamorous role in Boom, which eventually went to the debutante Katrina Kaif.  Diandra also had a cameo to play in the Madhur Bhandkar hit ‘Fashion’ in 2008.


Diandra Soares has also worked for TV as a host for ‘Get Gorgeous’ on Channel V. She also participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi, Season 4.
