Rahul Mahajan, a man of eccentricities and a non-assuming disposition, is a popular TV reality show contestant. He became famous as a huge favorite in Bigg Boss 2 and was even destined to win the show, which fell apart because he broke the rule and decided to climb off the gates in anger. He was also known to get into clashes with Raja Choudhary while romancing Payal Rohatgi and Monica Bedi.
The 6 feet 1 tall Rahul, the son of late union cabinet minister Pramod Mahajan (who was shot by his own brother Pravin) found himself being arrested and hospitalized for cocaine consumption in the same fateful year of 2006. After his divorce with first wife Shweta, Rahul got an advantage in the form of Bigg Boss, after which he did many reality shows.

When he was arrested for drug consumption, sources cited that Rahul Mahajan was spending Rs. 75,000 on a daily basis and that is family had 2000 crore worth of property. Rahul says ,” I have a different career on TV. Nobody has possibly got so many opportunities that I got. I tasted popularity with Bigg Boss, married Dimpy without a single paise from my pocket. My honeymoon expenses were paid by judging Comedy Circus. I can safely say my livelihood is thanks to TV. My mother says that I am doing thing that people in my family never did, for instance dancing in Nach Baliye.” Rahul however said that he had no intentions of joining politics.
Rahul Mahajan – reason for divorce with first wife Shweta
Rahul dated Shweta when they were training to be pilots. They got engaged, married and worked as pilots for Jet Airways. In 2007, Shweta filed for divorce stating that Rahul was abusive and had indulged in domestic violence. The marriage was dissolved and divorce was granted in 2008
Rahul Mahajan – reason for divorce with second wife Dimpy
Incidentally and ironically, the 39 year old Rahul Mahajan was in the same house competing with wife Dimpy in Bigg Boss 8 (2014-15).
In the 2010 reality show based on his name ‘ Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ he chose Dimpy as his partner. He silenced speculations of publicity-seeking finale, when he actually got married Dimpy in the last episode of the show, on March 6, 2010. Rahul was won over by Dimpy’s cherubic appeal and confidence.
The marriage however showed signs of major cracks in relationship in July the same year, when Dimpy walked out of Rahul’s house and complained that her husband had beaten her. Though Dimpy went back to the house and they even did Nach Baliye 5 (2012) together, things were never the same and the couple applied for divorce, which is in the pending state.
Things seem to take a better turn as Dimpy and Rahul were seen getting closer. Dimpy was actually seen tear-eyed as Rahul meet her during a ‘guest-episode’ in Bigg Boss 8. Later in Jan 2015, Rahul was again back in Bigg Boss 8 as one of the 5 challengers in the Halla Bol series competing with wife Dimpy who was termed one of the champions in the top 5.
